Amanda Regan is an engineer and a TEDx speaker and has worked for the European Space Agency (ESA) for over fifteen years. She graduated from Brunel University (UK) with a Masters of Engineering having completed her Masters degree at the University of Texas at Austin (USA) focused on Space Mission Design.

She started her career at the ESA working on an international space station payload project, which was launched on the Shuttle. From 2003, she worked in Earth Observation Future Missions working on international projects such as the Copernicus Sentinels and the Swarm mission (a constellation of three spacecraft) launched in 2013 to measure the Earth’s magnetic field.  For 5 years, Amanda worked closely with the NASA A-Train Mission Operation Working Group and many other national space agencies promoting international cooperation within Earth System Science.

Amanda now works at the European Commission in Research and Innovation and she focuses on the international Group on Earth Observation (a partnership of over 100 national governments and participating organizations aiming to coordinate Earth observation on a global scale) and is also helping to promote and align Earth Observation activities at the European Commission and the European Space Agency.
